A vintage Space Age pendant lamp in Mid-Century Modern style with a sculptural form in chrome and aluminum. This ceiling pendant reflects the futuristic aesthetic of the 1960s/70s and brings a distinctive retro modern character to interiors.
A perfect blend of form and function, this pendant lamp brings a touch of futuristic Mid-Century Modern to the interior, casting light through playful geometry where open cylindrical elements and reflective surfaces subtly enliven the surrounding space.
Crafted from chrome-plated metal with aluminum components, the fixture features three partially open tubes that house E14 sockets, designed to work with mirror bulbs. The futuristic silhouette and gleaming finish speak to the Space Age fascination with innovation and elevated form. The lamp is unmarked; based on design and comparable examples, it is most likely of European origin.
Online references suggest a possible connection to the work of the French industrial designer Max Sauze (1933), known for his mastery of aluminum and sculptural geometric forms. Sauze created several iconic lighting designs, including the celebrated 1970 Cassiopé hanging lamp, and also worked for manufacturers such as Sciolari. Trained at leading art schools in Algiers and Paris, his work gained international recognition by the late 1960s, with exhibitions across Europe, the United States, and Canada, including at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
