This signed floral still life on paper is an expressive modern work dated 2000, depicting a generous bouquet arranged in a sculptural blue-green vase.
Rich colour and pronounced surface texture give the composition an energetic, tactile presence.
The flowers are built up with vigorous brushwork and areas of substantial impasto, contrasting with the broader, more translucent ochre ground. Deep greens define the sweeping foliage, while pink, red, violet and white accents bring depth to the flower heads. The rounded vase is rendered in layered blue-green, grey and pale mint tones, its strongly outlined form anchoring the vertical composition.
The work combines gestural painting with a decorative approach to form and colour. Visible strokes, overlapping layers and irregular edges of the painted ochre field remain integral to the composition. The lower right is signed and dated 2000. The identity of the artist has not been established.

Condition
Very good vintage condition with visible age and handling wear. The paper has creases, wrinkles, edge wear and small tears, including damage along the upper edge. Most of this visible wear is concentrated in the unpainted white margins surrounding the painted composition rather than within the artwork itself. If desired, these outer margins could potentially be trimmed or concealed when framing. Please refer to the detailed photographs for the condition and surface texture.
The artwork is supplied unframed and will be carefully rolled and shipped in a protective tube.
A characterful original work whose strong palette and heavily worked surface give it considerable decorative presence, ideal for a living room, dining area or layered eclectic interior.
