This vintage table or chimney clock is a Mid-Century mechanical mantel clock by Kieninger, a renowned German clock manufacturer.
With its balanced form and refined detailing, the clock settles naturally into an interior, forming a calm visual anchor within the room.
Crafted with a high-gloss wooden case, the clock features a softly curved top and a convex glass front framed by subtle brass detailing. The white dial with black numerals and brass hands offers clear readability. Inside the clock, the mechanical movement is accompanied by a pendulum and three hammers that activate the gong mechanism. The clock produces a warm chime on the half hour and strikes the hours via a three-gong bar, with an approximate one-week winding reserve, and is supplied with a winding key.
The piece reflects Kieninger’s long-standing tradition of precision and quality craftsmanship.
Kieninger, founded in 1861, is one of the most established names in German clockmaking. The company has built its reputation on the consistent production of high-quality mechanical clocks, defined by precise movements and carefully considered design. Over more than a century, Kieninger has played a significant role in shaping both the technical and stylistic development of large mechanical clocks. Its work is characterised by a balanced interplay of refined materials, technical precision and restrained aesthetics, resulting in timepieces that unite functional excellence with enduring visual appeal. Today, Kieninger remains the oldest continuously operating German manufacturer of large mechanical clocks, with a legacy rooted in craftsmanship, innovation and lasting quality.
