Vintage Junghans Wooden Pendulum Wall Clock | Mid-Century Modern, 1960s

This vintage Junghans wall clock has a distinctly mid-century silhouette, with a compact case above a freely swinging pendulum. 

As the light shifts through the day, it catches the glossy wood and brings out the softer glow of the aged brass.

The wall clock features a rounded square dial in warm brown wood with a high-gloss finish, raised hour markers and a slim brass rim. Two cylindrical weights hang from chains on either side of the round pendulum, leaving the clock’s weight-driven mechanism visible below the case. 

The clock is in very good cosmetic condition and has a lovely chime (on the hour and half hour, which can also be switched off). Unfortunately, it slows down and stops running after a few minutes, so the movement needs to be inspected and adjusted by a clockmaker. The movement is believed to have an eight-day running reserve.

Condition
Very good vintage condition with some signs of age/use. The brass components have developed a natural patina and the pendulum has some slight discoloration. The brass can be polished to restore a bright golden shine if desired. The wood has a few fine drying cracks and the initial ‘J’ is missing from the Junghans logo. 
Clock stops running after a few minutes, so the movement needs to be inspected and adjusted by a clockmaker.

The compact case and long hanging weights give the clock a distinctive vertical silhouette, ideal for a hallway or living / dining room wall with room for the weights to descend.
