Vintage Juba Table / Chimney Clock | Mid-Century Modern, 1950s

A vintage pendulum table clock in Mid-Century Modern style by the German clock manufacturer Juba.

With its balanced proportions and subtle detailing, the clock integrates effortlessly into an interior, providing a quiet point of focus within the space.

Crafted with a solid wooden case and refined brass detailing, the clock features a convex glass front with brass rim, a clean white dial, and slender brass hands. Just above the front legs, the case is accented with fine brass-coloured stripes, complemented by elegant solid brass feet. Inside, the clock houses the mechanical movement together with a brass pendulum and the original hammers for the gong mechanism.

The clock is designed to strike once on the half hour and to sound the number of hours on the hour. The original gong hammers remain intact, however the gong bars are missing, so the clock runs without striking and only produces a soft ticking sound. The mechanical movement is wound with a key and operates for approximately one week.

This clock was produced by the renowned German clockmaker Juba (Jahresuhren-Fabrik August Schatz und Söhne, 1881-1981). Juba timepieces are known for their solid craftsmanship and balanced design, combining mechanical reliability with a clear, understated aesthetic.

Excellent vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. The clock is functional; the striking mechanism is present but inactive. The clock is equipped with a new key for winding the mechanism.
Shipping may cause the clock to be off and it may be necessary to have it set by a clockmaker!
