This IKEA Poäng armchair, designed by Noboru Nakamura and introduced in 1976 under the name “Poem,” is an iconic example of Scandinavian modern design.
The gently cantilevered, bentwood frame gives the chair its characteristic silhouette and resilient comfort. The warm honey-toned wooden structure forms a calm contrast with the cognac-colored leather upholstery. The leather has a natural sheen and a subtle patina that enhances the character of the design while maintaining its clean, architectural lines.
The frame is crafted from laminated bentwood, a technique that provides both flexibility and structural strength. The loose seat and back cushions are upholstered in supple cognac leather. The leather shows no cracks or tears and has been nourished to maintain its suppleness.

Excellent vintage condition. Light signs of use on the wooden frame. Leather upholstery has some signs of use and age, but without cracks or tears. Construction fully intact and stable.
The chair will be fully disassembled for shipping and can be easily reassembled upon arrival.
