A Haid wooden wall clock in a very unique Mid-Century Modern style, produced in Germany in the mid-20th century and fitted with a German Hermle mechanical movement.
The softly curved case and warm wood tones give the clock a calm and balanced presence, typical of European interior design from the 1950s and 1960s.
The clock features a sculptural wooden case with a hinged glass door, with curved glass panel, that opens to reveal the dial and pendulum. The dial combines a central wooden plate with a contrasting light chapter ring and applied brass hour markers. Elegant brass hands and the Haid script logo add a refined graphic quality. Two winding arbors are positioned symmetrically on the dial, characteristic of mechanical eight-day clocks.
Below the dial there is a glass panel decorated with a subtle geometric motif. The organic form and balanced proportions reflect the Scandinavian-influenced modernist design language popular in the period.
Inside the case is a German Hermle movement with a 3-gong bar. Hermle is widely known for producing high-quality mechanical clock movements and supplied mechanisms to many European clock brands during the mid-20th century. The movement runs for more than a week on a full wind and strikes, with a warm sound, on the hour (winding key included).
