A framed classical figural relief wall plaque in a Rococo Revival style frame.
The composition evokes a quiet, intimate moment between a seated classical female figure and a small winged putto, rendered in soft ivory tones that contrast with the warm gold-colored frame.
The central relief depicts a draped woman seated beside a cherub-like figure, both modelled in a sculptural material. The figures are carved in high relief, with flowing garments, delicate facial features and softly rounded forms that recall classical European decorative motifs. The surrounding frame is richly ornamented with Rococo-inspired scrollwork, finished in a warm gilt tone that accentuates the depth of the carving. The contrast between the ivory-toned relief and the textured gold frame gives the piece a distinctly decorative and romantic character.
