This ceramic ashtray features a sculptural Mid-Century Modern form with a strongly textured fat lava glaze.
Deep red, fiery orange and near-black tones create a rich, molten surface with considerable depth and variation.
The substantial round form is made from glazed ceramic, with integrated cigarette rests arranged around the raised rim. The glossy glaze combines flowing dark areas with vivid red-orange cellular patterns characteristic of fat lava ceramics. Each section of the surface varies naturally, giving the piece a distinctly graphic and tactile appearance.
Beyond its original function as an ashtray, the piece also works well as a decorative catchall for keys, jewelry and other small everyday objects.

In excellent vintage condition and appears to have seen very little -or even no- use. The glazed upper surface remains glossy and well preserved.
