A signed and numbered screen print by celebrated Dutch actress and artist Carry Tefsen, featuring an abstract figurative composition in turquoise, pink, burgundy and blue.
Expressive marks and contrasting colours give the scene a lively, open atmosphere.
Well known in the Netherlands for her work in television and theatre, Carry Tefsen also developed a practice as a visual artist. The artist biography attached to the reverse notes that she began painting seriously in 1992.
In this screen print, slender figures appear within a loosely suggested architectural setting. Layered colours and broken outlines create depth and movement, with pale pink and turquoise contrasting against burgundy and black accents.
The print is signed “Carry” at the lower right and numbered 539/1250 at the lower left. Presented behind glass in a black frame with a wide, off-white mount, it retains an Artmarketing label on the reverse with an artist biography and information about the screen-printing technique.
