This vintage postmodern wall or ceiling light combines a stepped frosted glass shade with a broad black metal base and a transparent glass tip.
When illuminated, the glass takes on a soft glow, while the clear point adds a sparkling detail at its centre.
Concentric ridges rise from the edge of the shade into a pointed cone, creating a sculptural profile. The frosted surface contrasts with the transparent tip, while the black surround frames the glass and emphasises its circular form. Three black clips secure the shade to the metal base.
The fixture can be mounted on a wall or ceiling and is designed for direct wiring, with no cord, plug or built-in switch.
This circular design, with a subtle pyramid- or cone-shaped tip in the center, is often described as a Teepee, Flying saucer or UFO model. Closely comparable examples are offered as Italian Murano glass lighting from the 1980s. This suggests a possible Murano origin for the glass shade, although the attribution remains unverified.
